Church Assignment in Newcastle upon Tyne

Tyne North Branch of the Gideons visited Deeper Life Bible Church in Newcastle upon Tyne on Sunday 3rd November, 2013 when Maurice Richardson and Mohammad Farsi represented the branch. 

The church membership is made up from the Nigerian Community residing in the west end of Newcastle and also other communities, including British. It has two services on Sundays, one at 10am for the Nigerian Community and another at 3pm. for others.

Maurice and Mohammad responded to many questions on the Association, membership and funding. Several Friends’ leaflets were taken and also one Gideon application form.

They were made very welcome by Pastor Samuel Ohiomokhare and his team and had a wonderful time. A good relationship has been established between the church and Tyne North Gideons.  Halfway through the service, and after the normal church collection, the Pastor called for another collection ’for The Gideons’! This is probably the first time that Tyne North have had an immediate gift from a church presentation and were then informed that a further gift would come from those members of the congregation who didn’t have any money with them on the day!
