ISB Colombia - Oct 2011

In October 2011 Stephen Waring, member of Liverpool Central branch and Zone 2 Trustee attended the International Scripture Blitz in Colombia, below is his report.

Thank you to everyone who prayed for me and the team while out in Colombia  Your prayers were answered in a wonderful way. 
 
I was challenged from Philippians Chapter 1 verse 14 about Paul being chained and we must not be chained with the Gospel and go out and tell others about Christ.

On my flight over to Colombia I prayed that I would sit next to a Christian.  My prayers were answered as the guy was a Christian. He got out his lap top and told me he was looking at certain verses it was Philippians Chapter 1. I felt completely at peace knowing that it was God's will for me to be in Columbia

Praise the Lord.
 
The team of 23 men were from 6 nations arriving in Buccaramanga  18 of them from the United States and Gideons from Finland, Australia, Germany, South Africa and myself from the British Isles.
The first week the whole team was in Buccaramanga and the second week some went to Pereira. I went to Manizales up in the mountains.
 
Our daily schedule was we would meet for prayer at 4.45 am and then breakfast at 5.00 am. We had to make sure that we got to the schools on time as schools commenced at 6.30 am.

We distributed God's word in schools, hospitals, fire stations, police stations, Universities and the military. Over the period of 2 weeks we were able to distribute 436,603 testaments.
1,163 came to Christ on 1 to 1 conversations.  Arnie Burk our team leader has done many ISB trips and he has never known so many coming to Christ through witnessing on 1 to 1 basis.

There were 63,632 group decisions made for Jesus Christ. 
 
I was so encouraged by the Branch in Buccaramanga many of them have only been in the Gideon's for a short time.  My local Gideon has only been in the Branch 5 weeks and took time off work so he could distribute the testaments with me  It was good to see that members from the Branch came to pray at 5.00 in the morning.
In Manizales a Gideon who helped us was 84 years of age.I have so many stories to share with You.
