National Convention 2011 - Christ's love compels us (2 Corinthians 5:14)

National Convention 2011 - Christ's love compels us' (2 Corinthians 5:14)

We were a little concerned to say the least when we found out that the Royal Wedding date had been set for the Friday of National Convention!  However, the hotel set up a big screen for delegates and we were all able to share in the happy event together.

And fellowship was so much in evidence during the whole of the Convention weekend!  Over 350 delegates attended and with visitors and children too we had nearly 450 people sharing together.  Add to that over 70 Church Leaders for the Saturday evening fellowship meal and you will see what we mean about fellowship in evidence!

Our Bible Hour speaker was Rev. Dr David Coffey who inspired and encouraged with his ministry.  International testimonies were given from Paul Koch, who is a Gideon member in Switzerland and has just retired as Regional Director for Region 4 (Europe East/Middle East).  Our International Headquarters representatives were Bill Thomas (International Vice President) and Lisa Ingle (International Auxiliary Secretary) and Paul Irwin shared the Gospel message in song.

Next year's National Convention will be held from 4 to 7 May 2012 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel.  Our theme will be "We are therefore Christ's Ambassadors" (2 Corinthians 5:20), our Bible Hour Speaker is Peter Maiden and the soloist is Henry Olonga.

Please do book the date in your diary – more details will be posted on the website during the coming months.

For now though, share with us the blessings of the 2011 National Convention.
