Royal Naval Association, Perth
Please see the below report from our Gideons Glasgow South Central Branch which we want to share with you for your encouragement.
"Cyril Dennis and I (Jim Barbour) attended the Royal Naval Association service on Sunday 4th June 2017 in St John’s Kirk. It was in a fine building where John Knox once preached.
"The service was well conducted by the minister and chaplain to the fleet with much naval ceremony. On arrival I was told my six-minute slot had been cut to two which was a shock and entailed much editing of my script with half an ear to the sermon – the storm on the lake!
"The chaplain thanked me and said I was only a few seconds over which I said was because I had to present Brian McKenzie with his Presentation Bible! Both the local minster and chaplain mentioned the Gideons Testaments in their final remarks and prayers.
"All were very appreciative and all 200 Testaments were taken up with many expressing thanks. Cyril was in the parade (see photograph) and was presented with a navy tie which he immediately proudly wore.
"Afterwards we were invited back for lunch in the Station Hotel and chatted to other senior delegates. The conference goes around the country to different venues annually. A very positive day! Thanks for your interest and prayers.
